Asbestos survey

Required when the building permit was issued before 1 July 1997: we look for materials that may contain asbestos.

The asbestos survey identifies the accessible materials and products that may contain asbestos: floor tiles, ceiling boards, pipes, roof sheets.

What we check

Every room, the attic and the cellar that can be accessed
Floors, walls, ceilings, ducts and roofs
Samples sent to a laboratory when a material is doubtful

Good to know

Without asbestos, the report has no time limit for a sale. If asbestos is found, the condition of the materials decides what must be checked again, and when.
